Pluto Goes Retro
Author: Miki Pluto, the mighty "dwarf planet," goes retrograde today (exact at 5:45 p.m. EDT), but don't panic -- this happens about five months out of every year. Many of the planets go retrograde for a few months each year when they're in the part of the Zodiac across from the Sun. In astrology, it's a time when the energy of a planet turns in on itself, or covers old ground.
With Pluto in Sagittarius 'lo these many years, this annual reversal could mean another cycle in which searing truths burn away shaky structures, causing both shifts in power and refreshing change. Anything that fails to stand up to Pluto's lie-detector test will be thrown into upheaval. Visionary "Sadge" fires its arrows into stale ideas and old-school hierarchies to come up with what works for the here and now, edging us toward our evolutionary destiny.
