Horoscope compatibility refers to finding someone who is compatible with your astrological sign. In astrology, people of the same sign are usually the most compatible, but there are other factors to look for. There are four elements in astrology and each of these has three signs. These are:

• Earth - Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn

• Fire - Aries, Leo and Sagittarius

• Water - Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces

• Air - Gemini, Libra and Aquarius

You are most comfortable with someone who shares your sign, and with those of one of the signs within your element. For example, if a Cancer was looking for horoscope compatibility, the first place he/she should start would be with Cancer, Scorpio or Pisces. This is because the signs within the same element share the same sort of character traits and views of life. It is very easy to develop and maintain a friendship with someone in your own sign or element.

How is Horoscope Compatibility determined?

When looking at horoscope compatibility, elements are also compatible with each other. Earth is compatible with water and Fire is compatible with air. People in any of the signs of the compatible elements would also make good matches for friendship or romance. They are similar enough to you to be compatible, but opposite enough to make a relationship interesting and exciting.

There are other ways of determining horoscope compatibility. For example if you take the numbers of the signs of you and your partner, starting with Aries as 1, and subtract them, if the answer is a 3 or a 9, this is one indication of a difficult match. When one partner has a Sun in his/her birth chart at a 90-degree angle to the sun's position in the other's birth chart, this means that compromises will have to be made in the relationship. The aspects between each partner's Moon and Venus can be an indication of a successful relationship if they are very close to each other. According to astrologers this signifies a happy marriage or a true friendship.
