When three planets form a triangle with each 120 degrees apart, this is known as agrand trine. Usually, but not always, the planets are in signs of the same element. When a fourth planet opposes one of the three points, this turns the triangle into a kite. There are three more grand trine kites this Spring through June, as the Sun (in the current Sun-Saturn-Jupiter formation),Mercury and Mars move into position to form the triangle. When planets form a matrix of trines, whether in a birth chart, or as part of a planetary transit, this creates a forcefield of energy in that element.

These grand trines team up the fire signs Aries, Leo and Sagittarius, and this illuminating light could spark more enthusiasm, optimism and joie de vivre all around. Joined in the kite with wild card Neptune in Aquarius, visionary ideas may arise that consider the whole of humanity and all its living systems.

Those with fire sign planets might feel more sure-footed, with momentum building to move swiftly in the direction of their dreams. But grand trines sometimes bring a sense of ease that makes people feel lackadaisical, so the first step is up to you.
